Decatur Industrial Electric Expands Team with Art Anderson as Production Supervisor

Decatur Industrial Electric is pleased to announce Art Anderson has joined the company as Production Supervisor. Anderson is an experienced operations professional with a demonstrated history of working in the automotive and manufacturing industries.

In his new role, Anderson will be focusing primarily on execution of the production schedule, coordination of teams, quality and safety assistance, lean and 5S manufacturing, and overseeing all shop technicians.

“Art has a track record of success in both small private companies and large public ones,” said Cole Namken, Director of Operations. “As we continue to grow, Art’s experience leading teams in a customer focused operations environment will help us continue to make American Manufacturing reliable and deliver total cost of ownership improvements for more customers.”

Most recently, Art worked as a Section Manager in Decatur for a Fortune 100 company. Anderson resides in Mt. Zion, Illinois with his wife, Amanda, and their three son

Meet Mitch Duckworth – Estimator

Meet Mitch Duckworth. Mitch is now an Estimator for our Company. Mitch started with Decatur Industrial close to three years ago as technician on our shop floor. With an interest in customer service and operations, Mitch was the perfect fit to fill the estimator role. He is primarily responsible for the repair job lifecycle and supporting the new sales division.

Mitch and his wife Amanda have three young boys and live in Decatur. When not at work and helping out with Cub Scouts, Mitch also is taking classes at Richland Community College pursuing his Associate’s degree in AgriBusiness Sales.

Fun Fact: Mitch is an avid CrossFitter and has lost close to 50 pounds in the last year!

Decatur Industrial Electric Announces Stephen Hubbard as Corporate Controller

Decatur Industrial Electric is pleased to welcome Stephen Hubbard as an addition to its Leadership Team. Hubbard is an accomplished professional with 25 years of experience in financial management, human resources, risk management, safety, and ERP technology. As Controller, Hubbard will have primary responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and improving all financial-related activities and human resources.

“The addition of Steve brings a fresh perspective and exciting approach to the strategic role of Controller,” said Trent Thompson, President. “His skill set is quite broad and we’re really excited that he has joined our team.”

Hubbard is a native of the greater Decatur community, a graduate of Millikin University and a former Village of Forsyth trustee. Most recently, he has worked in Champaign as the Director of Finance and Human Resources of a publicly held company.

Meet Zach Miller, Field Service Technician

This month we are spotlighting one of our field service technicians. Zach has been with Decatur Industrial Electric for slightly over a year. During that time, he has learned many facets of the business including overhead crane and hoist inspections, vibration analysis, and alignments. He takes a great deal of pride in what he does and enjoys being out at customer sites helping with their reliability efforts. Like many of our team members, when not at work Zach enjoys building things….However, unlike most of our team members he doesn’t rebuild cars. He builds computers!

Ken has been with Decatur Industrial for 15 years!

You will always find Ken working hard to get the job done. He works in whatever area that needs help and offers technical assistance on the hundreds of questions that come up each day. He thoroughly enjoys the variety of work he gets to participate in.

Outside of work, Ken spends time attending to his fruit and vegetables he enjoys growing. He and his family also spend time enjoying local festivals and all they have to offer.
